Smart Mode forecasting.
How Smart Mode sets per-variant thresholds from sales velocity and forecasts when each variant will run out.
Classic vs Smart
StockAlert has two tracking modes. Classic Mode uses a single shop-wide threshold and is available on every plan. Smart Mode, on higher plans, sets a threshold for each variant from its real sales velocity, so fast movers get flagged earlier than slow ones.
How the forecast works
Smart Mode forecasts when a variant will run out based on two numbers you set: a lead time - the days between ordering from your supplier and receiving stock - and a safety-stock buffer, a cushion of days on top of that. It works from those to time the warning so the alert lands with enough room to reorder.
This forecasting is what the in-app forecast email is built on.
Choosing a mode
You pick a mode during setup and can change it later in Settings. Classic is the simplest if you just want a dependable low-stock line; Smart suits shops whose variants sell at very different speeds and who want the warning timed to their reorder cycle.
